The 2009 Patsy Calton Award Winner is Jeanette Sunderland. WLD would like to send out a huge congratulations to all of those that were nominated. It was a tough year as all the nominations were excellent candidates. Jeanette Sunderland is a district councillor for the city of Bradford. Jeanette has had a massive impact during her time as a local councillor, she has been an active as group leader and constituency organiser to but name a few. One of the first things that we learnt about her was her campaign to combat the BNP in Bradford when no other party would. She rises to these kinds of challenges and with her she inspires other to make a difference. Jeanette has been described as "a true leader by example" as she has steered Bradford towards being a target seat. She has revolutionised the mechanics of grassroots campaigning and she continues to be a dedicated, inspirational and driving force within Bradford.
